Long Weekend Camping in Ingonish

Jon Berrie came to town with his girlfriend Jenn and we went to Cape Breton to go camping before finishing off the weekend back in Halifax.

Not the Scummiest Vessel I'd Ever Seen

This is a little late but I was always going to be good for it.  It was the parade of tall ships leaving the harbour before they went on their merry way.

Hey Rosetta! Hey Georges Island!

Last Saturday while the Tall Ship festival was at it's height, Hey Rosetta was putting on a show on Georges Island.  The story of which is that it is overrun with snakes, although I think booming voice Ben Caplan pulled a St. Patrick and sent them packing along with my hearing.  The island isn't suppose to be open to the public for another 2 years as a national historic site, but an exception ($$$) was made for the show.  It was kind of cool because the local pals had never been on the island and had never seen the city from there. Also, the Gillen sisters scored tickets which were mistaken as VIP tickets which allowed them to skip lines and stay in VIP section, although the did slum it a bit in the schlub section with us.  Meow!  It was a scorcher of a day with hardly any shade on the drumlin.  People were passing out LRC and pissing and crapping themselves on 2 confirmed accounts.  Thanks to that day I'm as orange as an umpa lumpa.  Double Meow!

The lineup to get ferry's back to the city was ridiculous. Almost turned into Lord of the Flies.  Once we got back to the mainland we met up with the VIP's who had jumped the queue and Mr. Colin who got back an hour after me and Sarah.

All in all, a fun day!

The Tall friendShips

Another action packed week with the Tall Ships in town along with loads of tourists.  The Gillen sisters were also in town.  During which Shawna learned that Keith's and actual IPA have nothing in common.  Nightly fireworks, random canon firings, Firetruck sirens.  "Fire in the Hole!"
