So I got a call from Jeremy today. He was all quiet. I asked him if everything was okay. He responded, "No!" So naturally I thought something serious was up. He finally fills me in, "They're taking her away." At this point I knew it was about the only one he ever had true feelings for.
So, yada, yada, yada, the Mazda MPV (Michael Peter Vernelli
(Jeremy's Dad's name (he couldn't resist buying a car with his initials))) is done after 18 rotations around the sun.
At the surface this affects me very little. But deep down maybe I'll miss that red beast.
Recently it helped me move from my summer sublet to my present place here in Toronto. Last year while the G20 riots were destroying the innocence of this fair town, I was nowhere near. As the MPV had miraculously tipped us off as to what would be happening in just a few short hours and taken us to the safety of Waterloo. Along the way Big M still had time to allow us to enjoy a good ole fashion HomeDepot parking lot Harvey's tailgate party. It lasted 5 minutes!
Back in the day, it was the vehicle that took us to see the Santa Clause starring Tim Allen many years ago. It was the vehicle that picked us after our evening shift at Stack-a-Self. It was never late picking us up. Only late getting us home (slow on the roads) and had a tendency to drive through red lights (once) and after realizing this malfeasance, stopped in the middle of that very intersection. I don't why he did it but I never questioned the majestic MPV.
So tonight I say Cheers to the MPV! May our beers replenish the tears Jeremy will surely be shedding tonight!
